Netherfield House Surgery, Northumberland
Background
Netherfield House Surgery (Doctors Quayle, Rajagopal, Payne & Fox) is a single site practice that operates in the Blythe Valley in the north east, serving almost 6,000 patients. Four doctors are supported by two nurses and nine administrative staff.
Challenges
Netherfield House needed to make the switch from mass market payroll software that was not meeting their precise needs, and meant a lot of labour-intensive manual data recording. The practice looked at what was on offer that could meet the payroll needs of a busy GP surgery, and recognised that Smart GP Payroll had the features and support it needed.
Outcome
Practice manager Paul Atkinson is finding Smart GP Payroll a joy to use, thanks to the way that is built around practice payroll needs. Payroll used to take all morning; now it can take as little as 30 minutes each month.
This is a magnificent package. It should be compulsory for all practices. It makes complicated tasks a doddle and integrates with HMRC perfectly. Background
Dr Levick has two GP surgery sites based in a rural part of the North East of England. Each site is a separate PAYE entity with one person responsible for managing the payroll for both sites.
Challenges
The Practice Manager previously had to travel miles between sites as Iris GP Payroll only allows the processing of payroll for one company. In addition to this only one copy of the software can be installed onto one machine at a time.
Outcome
Now in her third year with Smart GP Payroll the Practice Manager now has one single sign on and can easily manage the salaries for both sites. From time to time the other site can also add items such as items onto the payroll ready for checking.
The migration to the new system was very smooth. It’s made life so much easier and Dr Levick also gets to save some money at the same time.
